Yes, grass-finished beef should have fat

I take a close look at the marbling on our grass-finished ribeye

When it comes to raising quality grass finished beef, I'm striving to keep our animals healthy and living in a natural environment.

The results of this are well fed animals with extra energy to store as fat.

Some people expect grass-finished beef to be ultra lean with no fat, but don't be surprised when you unwrap your ribeyes and find marbling in the beef.

That little bit of marbling is important not only for the health of the animals, but also for the eating experience. I've come to expect it for the beef I'm putting in my freezer and you can do the same.

In this video, I'll show you what I'm talking about as we look at some ribeyes.
