Number 1 question about our beef

You might be surprised to hear that the number one question I get about our beef is this:

When can I order?

There are a few simple reasons for this.

Number one. Grass finished beef is a seasonal product. We are not processing beef every month of the year. Our beef is grass finished at nature’s pace on perennial pasture. Perennial pasture in our area is of the highest quality in early summer followed by early fall. These are also the best times to produce high quality grass-finished beef.

Number two. We are a small farm and we simply don’t have enough animals to be processing throughout the year. We typically sell out, and for this reason, customers want to make sure they don’t miss a chance to order.

Number three. Our beef goes from our pasture, to the processor, and then to your freezer. We do not store frozen beef to sell throughout the year.

So, when can you order?

I send out an email notification when I am taking orders for beef, so be sure to sign up for my email list so you know when ordering is open.

The best time to place an order is in the spring. Spring orders will be fulfilled with beef processed off of nutrient dense summer grass in June or July. This is when we have the most beef available, and you have the best chance of filling your freezer with locally grown, grass-finished beef.

The next best time is to place an order in summer for fall beef. We have less availability in the fall, because of the timing of when calves are born and when they’re ready to be processed. Although we do have beef available in the fall, don’t bank on it if you don’t want to miss out.

Have a great day!
